It's been a while!

I took a bit of a crafting break.  I've been rather busy with the holidays and work, as well as preparing for January (lots of birthdays and even an anniversary!)

Next Tuesday (January 7, 2014) I have a class on how to make a quick Hawaiian applique block!  I can't wait!  :)  I love going to classes, and this one will be with my mom, so that's even better!!!  :)  It's crazy.  I am so looking forward to this that I dreamed about it the other night.  Well, it was more of a nightmare.  I dreamed that we arrived at the class, but it was a continuation from another class so I didn't have the base pieces made that we needed.  I was out the class fee and had to sit and watch while everyone else got to sew.  I was so very sad.  How ridiculous!  LOL!

The only thing I've really done lately is I sewed up the edges on a calendar for a coworker of mine.  I told her that I was going to make her a wrapping bag for her to use for her cosmetics when she goes on vacation, so I still need to whip that up.  I need to find out what color / style of fabric she'd like.  I've been working with her for almost 19 years and I have no idea what her favorite color is!  That's bad.  :(  (Granted, we're not in the same office - I'll go for days without running into her)

Oh and I sewed two more wrapping bags just before Christmas.  One was the same white penguin material as in the post below - I gave that to my sister-in-law, and the other was a black background with Christmas mittens on it.  That one I used to hold stocking overflow for my husband.  :)

I guess that's all for right now.  :)  I have a bunch of coupons, so maybe I'll find out what her color preferences are today!

I hope everyone has a wonderful 2014!!!

Oh and a quick update on the blankets that I embroidered for my niece and nephew!  They adored them!!!!  Like, genuinely adored them!  :)  The look on their faces when they opened them up was priceless!!  I'm just hoping that the $3 or $4 blankets that I used hold up for them.  I have a feeling that they're going to be used for a long time to come.  :)
To jog your memory (and because I hate having to scroll back to see what people are referring to when they post updates like this) here are the two embroideries:
